What: An annual 4th of July open recreational foot race, the "Telluride Classic - Rundola" goes from the Town of Telluride up the front of the ski mountain, paralleling the gondola, to the ridge. Telluride Foundation is the host, beneficiary and organizer.
Where: Runners start at the base of the gondola on the town of Telluride side and finish at the top of the ridge. Runners and hikers will climb up the Telluride Trail (4,600 feet long, 40 feet wide with a 13% grade) to the top of the gondola. There is an elevation gain of 1,810 feet. When: The run will start at 8 a.m. on July 4th. Runners will ride the gondola back to Telluride or Mountain Village after the race. Awards will be held at the base of the gondola in the Town of Telluride at approximately 10 am. Who: Anyone who wants to race, run, hike! There will be several categories:
- By age group (based on age on race day)
- baby in a back pack
- kids to the top of "kids hill" (not timed - everyone wins!)
