ESCAPE INTO PLEIN AIR with Julee Hutchison
Capture the beauty of the landscape through color, values and shape relationships, putting light and life into your paintings. The landscape is a perfect foray into painting. It can be true to life and intensely narrative or free and open, offering an entry into abstract painting. In this workshop, students will learn to put light and life into their pieces. Painting en plein air, students will immerse themselves in the beauty of the landscape and learn to make a personal creative statement about the setting they’ve chosen. The workshop will focus on color, values and shape relationships in order to help students develop their artistic statements on canvas. This is a great class for students of all levels, but some painting experience is helpful. PLEASE NOTE: On the first day of class, students should meet at the Ah Haa School at 9:30am to check in and (if needed) collect easels. Please be on time! The class will depart shortly after 9:30am to head to the day’s painting location. Carpooling is encouraged; Ah Haa will help organize rides a few days before the start of class. Students should wear good walking shoes, layered clothing, sunscreen and bug repellent. Students should also bring a lunch or snack.
