Encounter: Facing the World Through a Lens with Sarah Schwab | Monday – Wednesday, March 4 – 6

Explore the art of visual storytelling through a journalistic eye – people, scenery, food, and more. Transport your friends and family with stunning photographs from your travels and life events. In this workshop, we’ll create a series of compelling images using natural light while visiting wild landscapes, historic hot spots and hip corners of Telluride’s unique mountain community. Learn how to build an authentic rapport your subjects in their natural environment, moving beyond cultural barriers and selfie sticks. After the shoot, we’ll consider how best to present our images. Students should bring: – a DSLR camera – a laptop with Lightroom software (free trial software downloads are available online here: https://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop-lightroom/free-trial-download.html) – at least one portable hard drive (ideally 2 if you want to practice archival workflow) – warm layers
