Capturing Summer En Plein Air With Tim Deibler
Wednesday – Saturday, July 20 – 23 | 1:30-6:30pm | $350 tuition Students must purchase required materials on their own. Explore innovative techniques for mastering the plein air process for vibrant and exciting paintings. Spend four summer days learning a unique approach to plein air painting with visiting artist Tim Deibler. Working outside, students in this class will learn to create vibrant, exciting paintings quickly, capturing the spirit of the outdoors using a limited palette. First, Tim will show students his method of creating plein air paintings in 100 strokes or less, a process that requires deliberate counting of each stroke. With no opportunity to fuss, this process helps artists develop a clear intention in their work. Two days of quick studies will help students master the decision making process that is essential to achieving more accurate and complete statements in their work. The last two days of class will be devoted to creating more finished paintings. Students should wear good walking shoes, layered clothing, sunscreen and bug repellent. Students should also bring a lunch or snack. Lodging packages are available! To inquire about lodging options, please contact Kathleen Cole at 970.728.3886 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
