OOAK BB006 Seeker CROP

Telluride Arts presents Seeker, a new exhibit by Nancy Anderson at the Gallery 81435 for the month of February. Anderson’s exhibit explores the iconography, symbolic nature, and lure of the heart. The show is part of Anderson’s ongoing attempt to express how we feel in our soul, which is directly intertwined with our most precious organ, the heart. Anderson uses found objects, jewelry bits, stones, ephemera, tintypes, antique books, keys…all trophies of days gone by. In an attempt to express the heart and all its complexity, Anderson uses these objects to create on both a large and small scale. “I attempt to expose my heart however secret or mysterious through my work. I think that is the pilgrimage of all artists.” Nancy is a self taught artist, craftswoman and teacher, and founded Sweet Bird Studio (now located in Ridgeway, CO) in 1988 and has had a successful career ever since. The exhibit opens on February 6th and runs through the beginning of March. An opening reception for the artists will be held during first Thursday Art Walk, on February 6th from 5-8pm. Regular hours are Tuesday-Saturday from 12-6pm or by appointment.
