Hike into History, Lewis Mill

Detail 1818 5SM4180

Join the Telluride Historical Museum and local mining historians on a fascinating hike to Lewis Mill - a 60-ton capacity ore concentration mill built in 1907. At the time of its construction, the Lewis Mill was a state-of-the-art concentration mill, and served as a new model of mill design that was moving away from the traditional stamp mill technology to later full chemical flotation. The Lewis Mill is currently listed on the National Register of Historic Places and plays a vital role in the history of the mining industry in Colorado. Saturday, October 5 Hike into History: Lewis Mill 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. $15 / $13 Students / $10 Members (Meet at the museum)
