He primarily plays all voices of saxophone, but also is proficient on the flute, banjo, and is also a vocalist. Originally from Cleveland, OH he began studying saxophone in the fourth grade. His passion for music took off when he was accepted into his high school jazz band as well as the Cleveland Youth Wind Symphony (C.Y.W.S.). He also performed concerts with C.Y.W.S. in conjunction with the world-renowned Cleveland Orchestra at Severance Hall. In addition, he kept up with his own delight for the genre of funk-jazz fusion by playing in local bars. He studied classical music at the University of Dayton and since moving to Southwestern Colorado he has kept up with his passion by playing sax and singer-songwriter banjo gigs at places like the Ouray Brewery, O’Brian’s, Cups, Allred’s, The Last Dollar Saloon and private parties. His broad repertoire spans classics such as Coltrane and Brubeck to Lady Gaga and Vivaldi. Currently he works with local bands Funkdafari, Bredren, and the Telluride Town Band. The public is invited to join AZADI Fine Rugs to celebrate the essence of Jazz. Capture the spirit of bygone days with them: From infamous Absinthe cocktails and Sidecars – the spirit of Jazz era is at hand. Appetizers, themed cocktails and other beverages will be served. D’Alessandro will be playing at 5, 7 and 9pm each night. For more information please call 970-728-4620. AZADI Fine Rugs is located 217 W. Colorado Avenue.
