Blind Wine Tasting 101 with Bryan Thames


Blind Tasting 101 BRYAN THAMES June 14 | Friday | 6:30 – 8:30pm | $65/student or $120/couple Register for this class only Step by step, learn the art of blind tasting red and white wines. Why do certain grapes look, smell and taste the way they do? What differentiates new world wines (United States, South America, Australia) from old world wines (Europe)? While tasting a variety of wines, participants will also get to sample some of the cheeses that pair well with them. Bryan Thames became a Certified Sommelier through the internationally recognized Court of Master Sommeliers in 2011. He has expanded his hands-on knowledge of wine and its production by traveling through several noteworthy wine regions, including California’s Napa Valley, Russian River and the Sonoma Coast, Oregon’s Willamette Valley, and the regions of Burgundy and Rhone’s Châteauneuf-du-Pape in France. Bryan has been the general manager and wine buyer for Telluride Bottleworks since 2006.
