Telluride's Fourth of July Celebration Events and Information
Celebrate independence the old-fashioned way: a parade down Telluride's main street at 10 a.m., a community picnic in Town Park around noon with games for kids, and spectacular fireworks that begin shortly after dark.
Telluride July 4th Schedule of Events:
Parade Staging 10:00 am between Aspen Street & Davis Street

Parade Starts - Colorado Avenue 11:00 am
Firemen’s Barbeque - Town Park 11:30–4pm, adults $12, kids $7 * to help reduce waste, please bring your own plate and utensils
Parade Awards Presentation - Town Park 1:30 - 2 pm
Kids’ Games - Town Park 2:00 pm
Root Beer Floats and Free Entry to the 12 - 5 pm at the Telluride Historical Museum

The Town Loop will run at 20-minute intervals from 7 am until 9 pm. Delays can be expected during the parade and before and after the fireworks on Monday. The free Gondola, between Telluride & Mountain Village, will run daily from 7 am to midnight.

Visitors will be parked in lots on Mahoney Drive, the High School, and in Carhenge parking lot on West Pacific Ave. The Galloping Goose transit system will be circuiting the town at 20-minute intervals, and has convenient regular stops at each parking lot. Please carefully observe all parking signs and restrictions in the Town. On Monday, July 4th, permit zones (G, O, and W) and meter zones will not be enforced. Additional parking is available in Mountain Village, from which you can ride the free Gondola into Telluride between 7 am and midnight.
Gondola Parking Garage - $ 5 per day and $ 20 overnight Heritage Parking Garage – first 3 hours free, then $1 / hour.

Camping in the Region
The Campground in Town Park will fill up quickly. There are also several U.S. Forest Service Campgrounds in the region. You can reach the local Forest Service office in Norwood by dialing 970.327.4261. Forest Service Campgrounds in the region include: Sunshine, Matterhorn, Woods Lake, and Alta Lakes.
Public restrooms are provided at the following locations throughout town: Elks’ Building, Town Park, and upstairs from Clark’s Market. Portable toilets are located in the Malls along Colorado Avenue.
Other Things to Know
It is preferred that you do not bring dogs to town. Dogs must be kept on a leash and attended in Town Park and the main downtown area. Please use pet pick-up bags.
Open containers of alcohol are prohibited anywhere on the streets or in public places. Please see specific rules posted in Town Park.
No glass is allowed in Town Park.
