Telluride Film Festival presents RABBIT HOLE
Telluride Film Festival presents RABBIT HOLE, Directed by John Cameron Mitchell, Thursday, February 24, 8:30 p.m. at the Nugget Theater. Tickets are $8. The film is rated PG-13.
Oscar nominated for her role in this film (Best Actress), Nicole Kidman plays Becca who, alongside her husband Howie (a fantastic Aaron Eckhart), is struggling to cope with life after the loss of their young son to a motor vehicle accident. David Lindsay-Abaire has wonderfully adapted his acclaimed play to the big screen, painting an intimate portrait of Becca as she tries to get her life back after the tragedy and is forced to confront her deeper, more complex personal struggles. “The wonder is that Mitchell and David Lindsay-Abaire’s screenplay see her confusion fairly clearly,” writes Roger Ebert of the Chicago Sun Times, “Apart from anything else, Rabbit Hole is a technical challenge. It is simple enough to cover the events in the story, not so simple to modulate them for humor and even warmth. I knew what the movie would be about, but I was impressed by how it was about it.”
