Blitzen Trapper Performs for Opening Night of Club RED

Telluride’s Newest Music Venue

TELLURIDE, Colorado (Feb. 25, 2014) – The music scene has been growing around Telluride this season as another event hits the calendar for the 2014 winter season. Telluride Ski Resort and Telluride’s beyond the groove Productions present Blitzen Trapper at the newly schemed venue, Club RED in the Telluride Conference Center.

March 7th marks the opening of the fresh venue Club RED. Decorated with plush lounge décor and soft ambient lighting, this new venue will create a more intimate music experience. With close proximity to the artists, the guests experience will be that of the speakeasies of old or Jazz clubs.

Blitzen Trapper, a Portland, Oregon band who started playing together in 2000, will be the inaugural band for this new venue. They played around the city endlessly to skeleton crowds and gave away an impressive stream of garage recordings on CDR for years before hitting it big in 2007 with the self-released Wild Mountain Nation.

This set the stage for the release of their next album, Furr's. Powered by its title track and by the G-funk-inflected "Black River Killer", the record became an unlikely hit and the group suddenly found itself on network television, featured in magazines and astride colossal festival stages.

Doors open For Blitzen Trapper and the inaugural opening of Club RED at 8:00PM, with the show beginning at 8:30PM. Tickets available locally at Wizard Framing and Entertainment as well as online at Show tickets are $22. Preferred seating is available.
