Yoga for All
An inspired Jivamukti yoga Instructor, Aubrey Hackman had a vision. It was to create a yoga event in the magnificent setting in which she is fortunate to call home. But her vision went beyond the physical yoga experience. Having just returned from training with her teachers Sharon Gannon and David Life, whose strong message of vegetarianism and environmentalism rings through all of their yoga teachings, Aubrey was inspired to create an event that would not only provide yoga students of all levels an enriching experience, but also offer them the opportunity to have a positive impact on the world. In its second year, the Telluride Yoga Festival has blossomed. And Aubrey's vision is now a reality.
The Telluride Yoga Festival offers an intimiate, experiential atmosphere where workshops, performances and ample time to enjoy the San Juan Mountains blend seamlessly. Many workshops are still available, and it's not too late to find great Yoga Packages.
Whether you are a progressing yogi seeking community or an occasional practioneer taking classes here and there at the local gym, the level of presenters and depth of the festival's schedule is sure to inspire. From Ashtanga to Tibetan Buddhism, you will find the different styles of yoga offered worth exploring. A complete weekend schedule, which includes Aubrey's top picks, is available online.Finding Peace with Manoj Chalam
The closing ceremony features Julia Horn, who will perform a beautiful yoga dance. Manoj Chalam’s discussion will follow and is focused on finding peace in this chaotic world. An inspiring voice, Manoj is both a yogi scientist and vedic scholar. (Sunday, July 12 from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Telluride Conference Center)
