What's Going On This Week?
August 16, 2018
This week is filled with fungi, music, movies and more! Talk to experts and enthusiasts about fungi at the Telluride Mushroom festival, get jazzy at the Summer Jazz Series featuring Adam Bodine Trio, catch a movie under the stars in Reflection Plaza and head to the library to hear author Woody Tasch talk about his new book, SOIL. Check out more on each event below.
Mushroom Festival: Telluride’s most eclectic fest where experts, enthusiasts and scientists explore fungi — edible, toxic and psychoactive. There’s a colorful parade, woodland expeditions for edible mushrooms and the Mushroom Cook-off, with live music and a vendor’s fair.
Telluride Summer Jazz Series: Adam Bodine Trio: Based out of Colorado, Bodine is talented pianist and multidimensional keyboardist who joyfully excels in a variety of roles and situations. A soulful improviser, tasteful accompanist, evocative composer and arranger, prolific producer, diligent bandleader, sought after sideman and charismatic performer, Bodine embodies keen musicianship and remarkable versatility.
Movies Under the Stars: Grease: Enjoy an outdoor movie in the cool Rocky Mountain air, lit by stars and moonlight, surrounded by unmatched Telluride/Mountain Village views. Bring your blankets, lawn chairs, and snacks! Full bar and menu service will be available.
Author Uncovered: Woody Tasch: Hear from author Woody Tasch about his new book, SOIL: Notes Towards the Theory and Practice of Nurture Capital.
