What's Going On This Week?

8 18

Weekends in Telluride are for festivals, and this weekend is no different! The Mushroom Festival kicks of this Friday and lasts through Sunday. This one of a kind festival brings together experts, enthusiasts and scientists to explore fungi, enjoy a colorful parade, a Mushroom cook-off and more. On Friday make sure to head to Club Red for Jamestown Revival an American rock duo with supporting act Joe Pug.  On Saturday, join the Telluride Historical Museum for Hike into History: Marshall Creek Trail. The route will follow the old wagon road access to Savage basin along the lower Marshall Creek Basin, passing the north side of the Via Ferratta (The Iron Road) following multiple tram lines on up to the historic Penn Tunnel mine site. As you may know, a Solar Eclipse is coming to our skies this month. On Monday, join the Pinhead Institute in watching and learning about the marvel. Check out more on each event below.

Telluride Mushroom Festival: Telluride’s most eclectic fest where experts, enthusiasts and scientists explore fungi — edible, toxic and psychoactive. There’s a colorful parade, woodland expeditions for edible mushrooms and the Mushroom Cook-off, with live music and a vendor’s fair.

Jamestown Revival w/ Joe Pug: The story of Jamestown Revival feels suited for the dog-eared pages of a timeless American novel.

Hike Into History: Hike into History: Marshall Creek. Meet at the Museum This hike will take approximately 4 hours and is a moderate hike. Participants should bring water, snacks, lunch and sun and rain protection. The tour will be carpooling to the trail head near Pandora Mill, if you have a vehicle and are willing to shuttle other participants – please bring it. $20 Non-Members | $15 Members          Call 970.728.3344 to RSVP or book a spot online.

Solar Eclipse Community Viewing Party: A solar eclipse is coming to US skies this month—come watch it with Pinhead Institute, a Smithsonian Affiliate! They will provide you with a pair of safe viewing glasses and answers to your eclipse-related questions as our newly-minted Mini Mission: Solar Eclipse Camp experts take the lead during this community-wide celestial celebration.
