What's Going On This Week?

It’s that time of year again and the holiday season is upon us. Visitors will soon be making their way to Telluride to enjoy our glorious mountain and to experience our special little box canyon. There are plenty of great events coming up to get us in the holiday spirit. On Saturday, get your ink blotters ready and cross your fingers, because it is your chance to win a turkey! Adult Turkey Bingo will be at 6:30 and 8:30 and 15 games will be played. A family-friendly version will be played on Saturday from 3-5PM. Also happening on Saturday is the Met Opera: The Exterminating Angel, a surreal fantasy about a dinner party from which the guests can’t escape. Next Friday, head to Hanley Ice Rink to brush up on your skating skills for the upcoming season! Last but not least, with Opening Day delayed, Telluride Ski Resort will offer a range of activities for visitors to enjoy during its “Thanksgiving Snow Jam”. From holiday movies to free rail jams and plenty of kids’ activities, there will be plenty to do over the long holiday weekend. Check out more on each event below:

Turkey Bingo: This is your chance to win your Thanksgiving turkey! Fifteen Bingo games will be played during each sitting. A portion of the proceeds benefit Angel Baskets, while a variety of generous local businesses sponsor each turkey that is raffled off per game. Members only game occurs on Friday at 6:30 and 8:30 pm. Saturday’s family friendly version will take place from 3-5PM and Adult Turkey Bingo will take place Saturday night from 6:30-8PM.

Met Opera: The Met presents the American premiere of Thomas Adès’s The Exterminating Angel, inspired by the classic Luis Buñuel film of the same name. Tom Cairns, who wrote the libretto, directs the new production, and Adès conducts his own adventurous new opera.

Open Skate: Hockey season is back and so is open skate at Hanley Ice Rink! Check out the schedule here.

Thanksgiving Snow Jam: With Opening Day delayed, Telluride Ski Resort will offer a range of activities for visitors to enjoy during its “Thanksgiving Snow Jam”. This year, during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend guests will find a variety of activities available in Mountain Village including sledding and a rail park at the base of Chair 4. Both activities are free to the public, Thursday – Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
