Giving Thanks to the Man Who Dreamed up the Telluride Ski Resort

T’is (almost) the season. Ski season that is—the ski area opens next week on Thanksgiving Day. Because this is a time of year for reflection and giving thanks, we felt it very appropriate to give a shout out to William “Senior” Mahoney. Without Senior Mahoney, the Telluride Ski Resort would not be what it is today.  Mahoney is the thread that runs through this town’s mining heritage and into the manifestation of a world-class ski resort.

Click here (and turn to pg. 18  in the Official Guide) to read all about Senior Mahoney, the man who dreamed the impossible dream and didn’t give up until a ski resort was built in Telluride.

With a recent storm dropping 33 inches of snow and more snow in the weekend forecast, conditions are shaping up nicely for opening day, Nov. 27.

Senior hopes to see you on the slopes this winter!
