Telluride Bluegrass UPDATE: Nickel Creek Announce Reunion Tour

The band called it quits back in 2007 but all musicians from the much beloved progressive acoustic band Nickel Creek have performed multiple times at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival since under new projects. World-class madolinist Chris Thile has returned with his band The Punch Brothers to Telluride Bluegrass and, most recently to the Telluride Film Festival for a surprise show to celebrate the festival's 40th anniversary. Sibling duo Sara and Sean Watkins returned this past summer for Sara's 2013 summer tour, promoting her newest solo release "Sun Midnight Sun."

For Nickel Creek fans, having them all on the same line-up this past June was great but having the trio play on the same stage seemed like a pipe dream. Pipe dream no more, this past Monday, Nickel Creek announced that they have reunited to make a new LP and perform a short tour in April.

The band's tour starts in April in Nashville, Tenn and end June 19-22, 2014. Those dates look familiar? The band will be concluding their tour at the 41st Telluride Bluegrass Festival
