Snow, Snow Everywhere

Kilimanjaro

Ski burns work. Last Saturday night the town and the cast of Quentin Tarantino‘s film “the Hateful 8” (currently shooting in Telluride) put a collective shout out to the snow gods during a ceremonial ski burn. The snow gods listened and it started to snow on Sunday dumping 16 inches over night, even causing a power outage on Monday.

Schools in Telluride rarely get cancelled but Monday was an official snow day. Kids made massive snow forts, beautiful snow angels, large snow men and many ventured up to make some powder turns. It continued to snow all day on Monday and throughout the week bringing the 7 day snow total to a whopping 33”.

The weather forecast is calling for another system to move through Telluride over the weekend which could bring an additional 1 to 2 feet of snow. At this rate, snorkels and fat skis will be a necessity by Monday. Here is a video of our favorite scenes of powder bliss for the week.
