Snap Away! Telluride Ski Tree Photo Contest

Annie ski tree

There are many great holiday traditions.  One Telluride tradition that captures the towns unique and funky personality is Telluride’s Ski Tree. The Ski Tree is constructed of recycled skis and is lit for the season the first week of December. The tree lighting is a festive evening, followed by a ceremonial ski burn to honor Ullr, an old Norse winter god and Patron Saint of Skiers.  Ullr and Mother Nature have smiled kindly upon Telluride this season delivering lots of snow in early December. More is forecast for next week so Telluride will be decked out in white for the holidays.

If you are in town for the holidays, be sure to take a photo in front of the Ski Tree. Tag your photo #tellurideskitree and submit it on Visit Telluride’s Facebook page, Tweet it, or post it to Instagram and you will be entered to win a pair of skis provided by Telluride Sports.  Happy snapping!
