Find Answers to Questions about Mountain Sports

Mary Duffy, editor-in-chief of Telluride Magazine offers the following:

If you haven’t ridden the ski area’s new Prospect Trail, get out and do it before the gondola closes for fall maintenance. The trail reopened in July (Prospect Basin closes each spring through June for Elk calving season) and is in perfect shape. This is one of the best mountain bike rides in the region, and it's accessed from the gondola’s highest point (Station St. Sophia) with a moderate climb to the Topaten area before winding its way back down to the Mountain Village, where you can catch a gondola back to Telluride or pedal to other trailheads.

What kind of bike do you need to ride Prospect Trail? Ask Jock. Telluride Magazine’s outdoor adventure aficionado explores such questions as What’s a 29er?; Why is my backpack killing me?; Is beer an equal thirst quencher to water?; What’s the best way to descend a scree field?; and How does one discretely defecate in the woods? Check out Jock (a.k.a writer and adventurer Lance Waring) at Telluride Magazine.
