Ah Haa School for the Arts
The Ah Haa School provides the ultimate setting with its peaceful backdrop to celebrate your special day or achieve the tasks at hand for your next meeting. This natural setting is far from the distractions of city life, serene and beautiful and perfect for any event.
Ah Haa School for the Arts is a community center of learning and culture that offers a wide variety of programs and seeks to inspire individuals of all ages to explore - develop and celebrate their creativity.
Ah Haa is a year-round community art center offering classes, workshops, open studio space, lectures and exhibitions in all the creative arts for both children and adults. From ballroom dancing to pastel painting to the art of making sushi, Ah Haa is a vibrant and active center that truly adds to the cultural life of Telluride. Ah Haa also puts on several special events during the year, such as the annual Ah Haa Art Auction in July, that have become unique and entertaining happenings not to be missed. The Out Loud Lecture Series, the American Academy of Bookbinding and the Telluride Writers Guild are three important programs that operate under the Ah Haa umbrella. In addition, the Ah Haa offers their historic building for weddings and meetings (see attachments below for details).
The Ah Haa School was founded in 1990 by Daniel Tucker, a noted artist and bookmaker. The school has grown from a small facility on Fir Street to the beautiful, Historic Depot Building. The Ah Haa offers something for everyone; exhibition gallery space, dancehall, ceramics studio, painting studio, bookmaking studio and lecture rooms. The school continues to grow, succeed and preserve. Classes and workshops happen year-round and are for locals as well as visitors.
