Ajax Peak

Difficult, 4 hour trip from the base of the power plant. Start at the top of Bridal Veil Falls, where the road goes one way to Ingram Falls. Climb steeply past the falls into chiseled stone stairs that lead into the basin. Watch for cables overhead, between the third and fourth cable, find the trail to Ajax heading upwards. Follow the switchbacks that take you to a grassy ridge between Ingram Basin and Savage Basin. Catch a well-worn trail to the false summit of Ajax for panoramic views into the valley, overlooking Telluride. Return the same way.
