Nordic Skiing

Touring the trail around Trout Lake
  • Great nordic skiing trails in Telluride
  • Nordic skiing is perfect for all ages in Telluride
  • Cross-country skiing in Telluride CO

Nordic skiing in the Telluride region has exploded recently. There are more groomed kilometers of trails and more Nordic skiers than ever before. There are six Nordic skiing areas in the immediate vicinity: Telluride Town Park, the Valley Floor, the golf course in Mountain Village, the top of Chair Ten (TopAten) on the ski area, Trout Lake and Priest Lake. Each offer different terrain, varied lengths of groomed trail and excellent views. The Telluride Nordic Association, through charitable donations and fundraising efforts, manages the trails and posts a daily grooming report. Pets are permitted in Mountain Village, Priest Lake and Trout Lake. Please sign in when visiting Trout Lake and Priest Lake. Skier numbers are important to document for funding the Telluride Nordic Association.

The Nordic Center in Telluride Town Park offers cross-country rental equipment, trail maps for the area, and lessons.

Last night's FREE dinner/ski...

Last night's FREE dinner/ski on the Valley Floor was incredible. About 75 attended, and it was amazing. It's been planned for a months and would be a great attractor for Nordic enthusiasts. Please contact the organizer Cindy Farny at 708-3786 so we don't miss promoting this on your website next time (maybe again this season?) and NEXT January.

Thanks! Chris

Hi, Chris! A few of our staff...

Hi, Chris! A few of our staff members were actually in attendance. It was a great event. We did promote it on our Peak Sheet but we ask that all promoters fill out our event submission form on the site so that we can get it on our calendar which then allows us to promote on our social media. We started using this form because of the overabundance of events that go on year-round we were spending over half of each week submitting events and getting them on all of our outlets. This is the easiest and most efficient way for us to get this information up. We understand that some times people fall through the cracks which is why we promote these services on all of our newsletters, In the Box and the Peak Sheet emails. We apologize for the lack of communication on this point. We will do our best to get this information up on the site for next time.
