TELLURIDE, Colorado (Feb. 18, 2014) – Telluride Ski Resort will be hosting the second stop of the Subaru Freeride Series (SFS), March 20-23, 2014. The Subaru Freeride Series is North America’s premier Freeride World Qualifier (FWQ) series, providing athletes with opportunities to earn FWQ points. The event will feature a 4-star Freeride World Qualifier (FWQ) ski and snowboard competition March 21 & 22, and a 2-star Junior Freeride Tour (JFT) competition for athletes age 12-18 on March 23.

Each Subaru Freeride Series event will take place as part of the Subaru Winter Fest, a weekend event focused on educating snow enthusiasts of all abilities about the sport and evolution of freeride skiing and snowboarding through unique exhibits and activities.

“We are proud to host some of the nation’s top skiers and riders,” stated Heidi Lauterbach, Events and Sponsorship Manager for Telluride Ski Resort. “These athletes will test themselves on some of our most difficult terrain. This event will deliver a festive atmosphere while showcasing Telluride’s world-class terrain.”

Stay tuned for the announcement of venue terrain as Telluride Ski Resort and the Subaru Freeride Series crew pick competition locations. Venues will be announced a few days prior to actual competition days.
