Telluride Arts Presents:

West and Away

Art Installation by Zachary Sands

At the Stronghouse Studios and Gallery

A project of Telluride Arts

283 South Fir Street in Telluride.

Open 12-6pm Daily

Zachary Sands:

West and Away is centered around Sands’ experience of exploration and travel, of leaving for the unknown and establishing a life independent of what came before it. The show continues the artistic theme in the artist’s work of synthetic/natural materials and processes, and develops a theme of romanticism and sentiment.

Zachary Sands received his BFA at the Tyler School of Art and is a resident artist at the Stronghouse Studios + Gallery.

He writes:

“My individual experience of the world is informed by my interpretation of the fluctuating line we draw between ourselves and a state of nature. This line is inherently personal, ephemeral, and subjective to situation and environment. My art is an attempt to understand and explore that line; to illustrate, to construct, to mark a singular moment in our relationship to the world around us.”

The exhibit opens for art walk on Thursday, August 1st from 5-8pm, and will run through the end of the month.
