Telluride Special Holiday Art Walk

The First Thursday Art Walk is a festive celebration of the arts in downtown Telluride for art lovers, community and friends. Fifteen venues host receptions from 5pm-8pm to introduce their new exhibitions and artists.  A free Art Walk Map offers a self-guided tour that can be used at any time to find galleries that are open most days.  Listen to Open Art Radio on KOTO from 12-1pm on first Thursdays to hear interviews with the artists. Maps are available at participating venues and at the Telluride Arts offices located in the Stronghouse Studios + Gallery at 283 South Fir Street.

Ah Haa School for the Arts

Ah Haa is bringing back its affordable art holiday exhibition, just in time for holiday shopping. This show features original fine art that has a value of no more than $600. Meaningful, lasting and beautiful, art makes a perfect holiday gift! Examples include jewelry, mosaics, small paintings, ceramic sculptures, photographs, silk scarves and more. Artists include Ann Cheeks, Michele Foote, Ginny Fraser, Judith Goolsby, Kathy Green, Michelle Montague, Jill Rikkers, Birdie Boyd, Amy Levek, Judy Kohin, Allison James, John Hopkins, Janice Reich, Goedele Vanhille, Brittany Miller and Rob Schultheis. In the East Room Gallery, students work from the fall session of the Telluride Painting Academy, Robert Weatherford's class.

McKenzie's  painting, “Celebration of Summer" was awarded 2nd Place at this years Los Gatos Plein Air Festival in June. The Los Gatos Plein air is one of the premier events on the plein air art calendar.  Now back in Telluride, McKenzie is not only one of Telluride's local plein air artists, he is also one of the top ski instructors at the Telluride Ski area. Adam Carlos is a second-generation artist originally from Sewanee, TN and graduate of The University of the South where he earned a Bachelors degree in the studio arts.
