Artichoke is a collaborative exhibit by Scott Harris and David Rasmussen at Gallery 81435 in June

The collaboration between Scott and David began with a set of tables. The idea was to use Scott's unique paint application with David's stylized approach to furniture making. The result was hand laid, round plywood tables with the paintings done directly into the inset tops. Each unique table has a painting framed within the wooden sides

Scott Harris’s paintings are a study in light, shape, and color. Not just concerned with composition or subject, his paintings are an ongoing experiment in paint application and presentation. Loosely based on impressionistic styles, they also look at erosion and relief as a tool to expose the underlying layers hidden within an image.

David Rasmussen’s heirloom furniture demonstrates unique style and a high degree of craftsmanship. Simple lines and interesting shapes form furniture pieces that blend in with their surroundings, yet still reach out to the observer. Function and form are paired with meticulous construction to deliver furniture that can be handed down for generations

The show will display the main table, the 'Artichoke', as well as various pieces of David's furniture and Scott's paintings.
