Place Matters: Telluride Ski & Golf and Rodney Strong Vineyards Announce Partnership
TELLURIDE, Colorado (August 29, 2011) – Rodney Strong’s company tag line proclaims Place Matters, that “place is not everything, but it is the most important thing.” Telluride Ski & Golf Resort was borne of the same idea with one of the most spectacular destinations in North America. The companies have capitalized on the advantages of their locations and developed products and experiences at the top of their respective industries. A natural fit, Telluride Ski & Golf and Rodney Strong Vineyards are pleased to announce a partnership set to maximize their reach into national and international markets.
Rodney Strong Vineyards grows and produces wines from grapes grown exclusively in Sonoma County’s finest appellations: Alexander Valley, Russian River Valley, Chalk Hill and Sonoma Coast. Rodney Strong was the first to produce and release a Chalk Hill chardonnay, one of the first to plant pinot noir in the Russian River Valley, and the first to make a single-vineyard cabernet sauvignon from Sonoma County. With a unique combination of history and relevance to today’s wine drinkers, the winery has found a loyal following among enthusiasts with their two wine clubs and summer event series.
Telluride, situated in the San Juan range of the Rocky Mountains, has long been known for stunning beauty, legendary terrain and world class services. In the past year the resort has been ranked the No. 2 Resort in North America by Conde Nast (3rd straight year), the West’s Prettiest Ski Town by Sunset Magazine, and North America’s Best Nightlife by Mountain News.
“Rodney Strong’s leading international brand is an excellent match for Telluride, and we look forward to continuing to set our customer’s experiences apart through this partnership,” said Matt Skinner, vice president of marketing for Telluride Ski & Golf.
“There are few places in the world that match the beauty of Telluride,” said Dan Wildermuth, vice president of marketing for Rodney Strong Vineyards. “Coupled with the outstanding experiences offered and services provided by the world-class resort, a partnership with Telluride Ski & Golf is a perfect match for Rodney Strong Vineyards. It’s right in sync with what we aim to deliver to our customers.”
Rodney Strong and Telluride will work together with events at Telluride’s flagship Allred’s Restaurant, the world’s highest wine bar Alpino Vino, and with the exclusive Telluride Ski & Golf Club, as well as at Rodney Strong’s summer concert series and with the Symmetry Society and Collector’s Circle wine clubs.
