Mountain Village and the Telluride Tourism Board team up to deliver a seamless approach to group sales and special events
MOUNTAIN VILLAGE, Colo. – October 5, 2012 – The Town of Mountain Village, Telluride Tourism Board (TTB) and Tony Kalyk, the current operator of the Telluride Conference Center (TCC), announced today that they will immediately begin a collaborative process to rethink and reorganize the operations, oversight and sales of the TCC.
“The town, Mr. Kalyk and the Tourism Board all recognize the importance of the Telluride Conference Center to our region and we all see an opportunity to improve its utilization,” said Mayor Bob Delves. “The current organizational structure is a direct result of the town’s efforts to cut costs and has been successful in that regard; but it has proven to be imperfect in maximizing the utilization of the TCC. Tony recognized this and asked that we discuss organizational changes, so we will begin to do so immediately. In the interim, we are jointly committed to ensuring the facility is available for new and existing events and for the promotion of our regional group sales efforts.”
Located conveniently in Mountain Village, the TCC opened its doors in 1999 and offers 30,000 square feet of combined indoor and outdoor space. It is also home to several annual events such the Telluride Film Festival, Telluride AIDS Benefit Fashion Show, and Chocolate Lovers’ Fling, as well as headquarters for a variety of social, association and corporate groups.

ABOUT MOUNTAIN VILLAGE
Mountain Village, situated in the heart of the breathtaking San Juan Mountains, was incorporated in 1995 as a home rule municipality. Its founders envisioned a European-style ski-in/ski-out, pedestrian-friendly destination resort that would complement the historic mining town of Telluride. A three-stage gondola transportation system connects the Town of Mountain Village with the Town of Telluride. Situated at 9,500 feet, Mountain Village is comparably a world apart from other resorts: it is innately spectacular, beautifully orchestrated and planned, and overflowing with style, charm and sophistication.
