Maegert-Kohli and Morison win at World Cup


TELLURIDE, Colo. (AP) — Fraenzi Maegert-Kohli of Switzerland and Matthew Morison of Canada each won parallel giant slalom titles at the snowboard World Cup.

Germany's Amelie Kober finished second behind Maegert-Kohli on Tuesday and Canada's Kimiko Zakreski was third. Michelle Gorgone was the best American rider among the women, finishing 11th.

It was the first of five Olympic qualification events for the discipline. There will be another PGS competition at Telluride on Thursday.

In the men's final, Morison edged Austria's Benjamin Karl and France's Mathieu Bozzetto. Americans Justin Reiter and Chris Klug were 15th and 16th, respectively.
