Telluride Ski Resort Announces Backcountry Guiding Program
March 22, 2010 – (Telluride, CO) – The Telluride Ski Resort announces the development and implementation of a guided backcountry skiing program to begin as early as this week. Terrain in both Bear Creek and Alta Lakes will now be accessible for guided backcountry skiing with Telluride Backcountry guides.
Working with the Telluride Ski Patrol’s snow safety department, the guide service will determine backcountry accessibility and travel daily. This program, in conjunction with the USFS issuance of a special use permit, will commence on March 23, 2010.
Guests participating in the guided backcountry program can set up an itinerary and book a trip through Telluride Eco Adventures, located in the Franz Klammer breezeway in the Mountain Village or by calling 970.728.7300. Participants must be expert skiers and boarders. All backcountry equipment, including shovel, beacon and probe, is available at Eco Adventures.

Semi Private Technical Route: $395
Private Full Day: $625 – Up to 3 additional participants at $95 per person.
Private 1/2 Day: $500 – Up to 3 additional participants at $95 per person.
