Beekeeping
Beekeeping can be a rewarding full time occupation, an excellent source of extra income, or a relaxing hobby. The first day of class will be spent viewing PowerPoint presentations and other materials that will focus on bee biology and the fundamentals of beekeeping. On the second day, the class will discuss various beekeeping practices in further detail, and will receive hands-on training by actually working with two live colonies of honey bees (one conventional Langstroth hive and one top bar hive). Upon completion of the class, students will have the necessary information and skills to establish and maintain hives of honey bees.
