Understanding Light -Natural to Studio (with George Bouret)

Tuesday – Thursday, August 18 – 20 | 10am – 2pm | $215 tuition + $10 materials A digital photography workshop for learning how light works and how to manipulate it to capture successful images in any setting. Understanding how light works and how to manipulate it is the key to making good photographs. Over the course of three days, students will learn to read light and recognize when and how to change it for successful image making. Hands on demonstrations will introduce students to basic tools, such as hot lights, strobes, reflectors, soft boxes and umbrellas. Other topics will include mixing color temperatures, painting with light, and post production strategies for storing and sharing images. Participants should leave with new tools and skills for creating powerful photographs in any setting. Participants should bring a digital SLR camera and have a good understanding of how their camera works. For the first class, please bring examples of lighting that interests you (from magazines, books or even film). This is a Visiting Artist class, therefore cancellations must be made more than 45 days in advance in order to qualify for a refund (less a $25 administrative fee).
