Thanksgiving Snow Jam
With Opening Day delayed, Telluride Ski Resort will offer a range of activities for visitors to enjoy during its “Thanksgiving Snow Jam”. From holiday movies to free rail jams and plenty of kids’ activities, there will be plenty to do over the long holiday weekend.
Starting on Thursday, November 24th, there will be a range of outdoor activities for all ages, including:
- Snow Play Area – Thanks to the recent snowfall and snowmaking temperatures, the Resort will offer a sliding area Thursday through Sunday, November 27th from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Skiing and riding in this area will be prohibited and sleds will be provided.
- Rail Jam Area – The Telluride Terrain Parks crew will have several small features built at the base of Village Express Lift (Lift 4) for skiers and snowboarders to test their skills and warm up for the season ahead.
- Park Bully Snow Cat Viewing and Photos – The Resort’s newest addition to its snow cat fleet, the Park Bully, will be on display for photo ops.
- Ice Skating at the Madeline – The Mountain Village Ice Rink, adjacent to the Madeline Hotel and Residences will be open from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. daily for a nominal fee. Skate rentals will also be available.
Those participating in the Snow Play Area and the Rail Jam area will need to stop in the Mountain Village Ticket Office for a complementary activity ticket prior to entering either area. Eco Adventures will also be offering full and half day programming for children ages 5 – 12, as well as a Kids’ Happy Hour from 3:30 – 5:00 pm, Thursday through Sunday. More information on Eco Adventures programming is available at www.tellurideskiresort.com/ski-school/eco-adventures.
Dining options in Mountain Village will also be plentiful throughout the weekend, with Allred’s, Siam Talay and Tomboy Tavern open for dinner. Altezza at the Peaks will be open for Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday, and reservations are required.
