Telluride Painting School with Deborah Kahn
Painting: Color, Form and Expression with Deborah Kahn Monday – Friday for two weeks | 9:00am – 1:00pm | $1,145 September 25 – October 6, 2017 Celebrated artist Deborah Kahn will help students investigate color as a key structural element in creating form and space in painting. Working from a combination of still lifes, live models and the landscape, students will discover complex color relationships and isolate color to establish value, space and expression. Emphasis will be placed on developing mixing techniques in an effort to help students see color more accurately, and studies of master works will be undertaken to help students learn to draw directly using color marks, and expand their proficiency in the three properties of color: value, hue and intensity. This course will begin with a casual meet and greet with the instructor and students on the evening of Sunday, September 24th. Students will be able to set up their materials on Sunday evening in preparation for Monday’s (September 25th) 9am start. Includes 24-hour access to the painting studio between class sessions, model fees, easels/gatorboards, and general studio supplies.
