Learn the Uke with Jacqui McCormick
For total beginners and intermediate Ukulele players Uke it up for five weeks with local Ukulady Jacqui Power. This beginning adult class will provide basic skills for getting started playing the ukulele. Students will learn how to tune their instruments, play basic chords, use a variety of basic strumming patterns, and play with other musicians. This is a great opportunity for anyone to try their hands (and fingers) at a new instrument! Or, if you’ve already taken Ah Haa’s beginner ukulele class and need a refresher, this January session is a great opportunity to take your ukulele skills to the next level! Jacqui teaches at the Mountain School as the 5th/6th grade assistant teacher. She was born and raised in Upstate New York and grew up with a love and appreciation for nature and the outdoors. She enjoys biking, snowboarding, strumming the ukulele, learning, and anything involving soccer. Students should bring their own ukuleles. If you need to buy a ukulele, inexpensive ones are available online, just make sure they arrive in time for class!
