Beginning Acrylic Painting with Ann Cheeks

Monday – Wednesday, March 9 – 11 | 10am – 2pm | $200 + $60 materials Learn the fundamentals of acrylic painting, from color mixing to composition. Acrylic is the perfect medium for beginning painters (and fun for every level). Both durable and versatile, acrylic paint is water soluble when wet, so it dries fast and requires no solvents. Unlike oil paint, acrylics are easy to wipe off, layer or simply cover up while still allowing you to mix, glaze and build richly colorful paintings. In this class, you’ll learn basic color theory, color mixing, design/composition and the straightforward process of, well… painting! We will work from life to do a few fast series of paintings and from drawings and/or photographs for a longer finished piece. This is a relaxed, gentle class for anyone wishing to begin, get back into or simply explore with acrylics. All supplies are included with the materials fee.
