Dr. Tom Romero: Race-Making in Colorful and Colorblind Colorado

Join Dr. Tom Romero, Associate Professor at the University of Denver Sturm College of Tom Romero for an exploration of the struggle for human and civil rights in Cold War Colorado. Dr. Romero will cover the legal and cultural history of race and racism in our state: KKK involvement in the 1920s, anti-Mexican sentiment in the 1930s, and racially restrictive covenants in the 1940s, in order to contextualize the Cold War struggles for fair housing and equal employment law, as well as the school integration battles of the early 1970s.
