"Voices of Wartime: Telluride During WWII" exhibit opening

Be the first to see the Telluride Historical Museum’s new annual exhibit, “Voices of Wartime: Telluride during WWII.” Opening in June 2014, Voices of Wartime: Telluride during World War II explores the the history of the Second World War through the unique lens of Telluride residents. A revealing look into how daily life changed - and did not change - during the War, the exhibit utilizes the power of oral histories to capture the experiences of local residents and share them with a new generation. Surrounding the stories of Telluride locals during the War will be images, artifacts, and newsreels exploring the War as a global conflict in greater depth. In addition to artifacts in the museum's collection and those from local families, the Museum will also be capitalizing on its recent designation as a Smithsonian affiliate museum by coordinating loans from other affiliated museums. These artifacts have powerful, often tragic, stories behind them and will be vital in expanding upon the personal histories of those who were involved in the War. This event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments provided.
