Basic Knife Skills with Cody Borden

Basic Knife Skills CODY BORDEN Tuesday, February 4 | 10am – 1:00pm | $40 + $5 materials Knife skills are essential in every kitchen, no matter what level cook you are. In fact, proper knife-wielding techniques will transform your cooking experience, helping you cut down on prep time and avoid the common mistakes that can lead to injury. Learn how to keep your knives sharp and clean; the proper way to hold a knife and protect your fingers; specialized cutting techniques, like chiffonade, batonnet, and tournée; and which knives work best for specific tasks. Using the ingredients prepared during class, the chef will assemble a simple dish for all to enjoy. Bring a snack and a good quality chef’s knife, if you have one. *This class will be held in a local kitchen, not at the Ah Haa School.
