MOUNTAIN VILLAGE WINTER FEST 2013

Mountain Village is all dressed up for this holiday season with garland, bells, ornaments, and lights galore. There will be a huge Christmas Tree in Heritage Plaza adorned with all the appropriate tree trimmings, just in time for this year’s holiday event – Winter Fest!  A collective effort from TMVOA, Town of Mountain Village, all businesses and merchants in Mountain Village is going to make the First Mountain Village Winter Fest 2013 a new and improved three day Christmas event commencing on Friday December 13, 2013!

Ginger Bread House Competition – distribute kits to merchants on Wednesday 12/4 at the Merchant Meeting @ Blue Mesa.  Completed Houses to be displayed starting at noon on Friday, 12/13.  Vote for your favorite and the winner announced at tree lighting ceremony (12/13 6pm)

Heli-Ski Giveaway - Stop by the Peaks Resort and Spa for a chance to win a FREE standby seat from Helitrax. Drawing at 6:30pm Friday, December 13th. Must be present to win.

Free Ice Skating on the Mountain Village Ice Rink ~ 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. 

BootDoctors, operators of the Mountain Village Ice Rink, is giving the community an early holiday gift: free skating during Winter Fest. For those without skates, rentals are available.

Holiday Music ~ 12:00 p.m. to 8 p.m. 

The classic holiday songs, the ones we all know so well and sign along to – Jingle Bells, Joy to the World, Silent Night – will be echoing throughout Mountain Village’s plazas for Winter Fest.  TMVOA will provide the music in Heritage Plaza, Town of Mountain Village in TCC plaza and BootDoctors at the ice rink.  

Holiday Busker Entertainment ~ 12:00 p.m. to 6 p.m. 

The classic holiday buskers will entertain patrons and visitors.   Cirque Core and Jeff Badger will provide the Holiday Busker Entertainment in the Mountain Village.  

Number / Sticker Game ~ 12:00 p.m. to 8 p.m. 

Make sure to stop by the Telluride Ski Resort Booth in the Heritage Plaza to pick up your sticker for a chance to meet new people and win prizes at participating Mountain Village retailers.

Sitting with Santa ~ 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. 

Kids of all ages can say hello to Santa in the Heritage Plaza and tell him what they want for Christmas, and have a picture taken with him, too. This year pictures will be taken by parents and we encourage everyone to upload them to the Mountain Village Merchants facebook page.  Fun provided by Realize Planning.

Holiday Crafts for Kids (while supplies last) ~ 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. As the children wait to tell Santa what they want this year for Christmas, kids of all ages will have the opportunity to be creative! There will be face painting, holiday crafts and an opportunity to decorate their very own Christmas tree ornament to add to tree in Heritage Plaza. Fun provided by Telluride Sitters, 970-708-0170 

Holiday Cookies (while supplies last) ~ 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. 

As they wait to tell Santa what they want this year for Christmas, kids of all ages can enjoy holiday cookies.  Treats provided by Realize Planning.

“Guess How Many” ~ 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. 

Children and Adults alike will be able to sign up for a guess (By the Santa Tent)and there will be a prize given over the weekend.  Fun provided by Realize Planning.

Free Sledding ~ 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. 

Telluride Ski Resort will open up the bottom of Misty Maiden for Free Sledding. Sleds will be available or you can bring your own.

Bubbles and Light Apps at the Spa at the Peaks ~ 5pm-8pm

Tree Lighting Ceremony ~ 6:00 p.m. 

Town of Mountain Village Mayor and Santa will light up the HUGE holiday tree in Heritage Plaza at 6:00 p.m. with the help of the elves and the kids. Carolers will be providing a pre-lighting entertainment starting at 5:30 as we all gather towards Heritage Plaza to light up the holiday tree.  Tree, tree lighting and tree decorations all provided by Town of Mountain Village

Hang out with The Grinch! ~ 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. 

Kids of all ages can say hello to The Grinch at the Hotel Madeline and have a picture taken with him, too. This year pictures will be taken by parents and we encourage everyone to upload them to the Mountain Village Merchants facebook page.  There will also be kids crafts!  Fun hosted by Telluride Sitters and Hotel Madeline.

Light up your Bike! ~ 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. 

Join BootDoctors for a Fat Tire Bike “light up your bike” ride through the core. Then the bikes are going to telluride to ride to the Fire and Ice event at the Town Park and visit the Smugglers where they are introducing a new holiday brew.

Free Sleigh Ride ~ 5:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. 

Telluride Ski Resort will be offering one round trip sleigh ride trip to Gorrono Ranch from the base of lift 4 – Based on space availability (approx. 30 seats/spaces available)
