The Artful Gift Series: Create and Can Three Holiday Sauces RHIANNON CHANDLER Saturday, November 30 | 2 – 6:00pm | $65 + $35 materials Add a gourmet touch to this year’s holiday meals and learn how to can and preserve food at the same time. Telluride chef Rhiannon Chandler will lead students through the creation of three different delicious sauces to go with a variety of foods, both savory and sweet. From spiced cranberry chutney (you’ll never go back to canned sauce again), to tangy tomato jam (delicious on eggs or with cheese and crackers), to pear-apple butter (pair with pork tenderloin, stir into yogurt or eat atop ice cream) – there’s a sauce for all tastes. Finished sauces will be canned in glass jars during class, enabling them to be given as gifts without the need for refrigeration. Students will bring home at least two pint size jars of each sauce, recipes, and the knowledge to can food on their own. (Bring 6 clean, pint-size glass canning jars and lids.)
