YPT presents "Treasure Island"
Shiver me timbers! Set sail with the Sheridan Arts Foundation's Young People's Theater in a musical maritime adventure based on the classic tale by Robert Louis Stevenson, "Treasure Island." Twenty-five actors in graces 3-5 bring well-known heroes, villians and oddballs such as Jim Hawkins, Long John Silver and Ben Gunn to life in a colorful adaptation that's filled with rollicking song and dance. True to YPT tradition, the story has been re-imagined to include an array of exciting new characters, including jig-dancing waitresses, swashbuckling pirate girls and scurvy-ridden castaways. The show is perfect for the entire family and to add to the fun, we'll hold costume contests before each show for the best-dressed pirates in the audiences. So grab your hooks, swords and spyglasses and come and join in the nautical nonsense. The show is at 6 p.m. nightly Friday May 3 through Sunday May 5. Tickets are $13 for adults and $11 for kids 12 and under. Lap kids are free.
