Finding Solutions: San Miguel Watershed and Interactive Atlas In partnership with Telluride Institute and the Watershed Education Program March 27, 6:00-8:00 pm Wilkinson Public Library FREE Part of Building Common Grounds Series with WPL The first part of the evening, Laura Kudo, the director of the Watershed Education Program of the Telluride Institute, will share information on the San Miguel River Watershed. UCSM will offer an adult class for college credit on the Watershed this summer instructed by Laura as part of a larger environmental science course accredited through Colorado Mesa University. Come and learn more about our unique mountains to desert river that travels though four life zones in only 80 miles. Then Dan Collins will discuss the Interactive Atlas of the San Miguel. It is a mediated sculptural display that allows users to interact with informational layers (pictures, texts, maps, stream data, etc.) focused on the San Miguel River Watershed in Southwestern Colorado. A collaboration between the Dan Collins and Gene Cooper, the project in its current form is a prototype for a network of interactive stations situated in publicly accessible institutions and facilities (libraries, schools, museums, general stores, etc) along the length of the San Miguel River.
