La Cocina De Luz features a mixed media exhibit by Kellie Day “I paint everyday life in the southwest mountains and desert—moments that have deeply inspired me, based on years of adventure. My medium is mixed media on canvas, and I hope to inspire viewers, to give them the gift of a beautiful moment. My artistic process involves a large element that is out of my control, where the medium has a mind of its own.

I like this mystery of what will appear on the canvas—it’s where the magic happens. Between the magic and the completion of each work is a process of watercolor, pastel, collage and India ink.”
