This class is a hands-on approach to film-making, that begins with camera work and ends with the completion of a finished scene/non-fiction film. Students will learn basic camera, lighting and editing techniques using the Sony PD150 camera and Final Cut Pro editing software. Although students will use this software, it is only an introductory level course and they may desire further training in Final Cut. While, short assignments or readings will be conducted during class time, students will be expected to create a final non-fiction film outside of class time over the course of a two-week period. Ultimately, a final documentary no more than 10 minutes in length will be due at the end of the class and will be screened at Wilkinson Public Library.
Students who take this class will receive a membership to TellurideTV, and will be able check out video equipment from the library and air their creations on the station for a limited amount of time.
