The genius of Cole Porter explodes from the Opera House stage in one of the best loved Broadway shows of all times, the maritime musical adventure Anything Goes. This 1930’s decadent tale takes place on the USS American, a luxury ocean liner with a cargo of uptight aristocrats, gun-toting gangsters, and a bevy of bona fide fallen women. With a gorgeous score that includes classic songs such as “I Get a Kick Out of You”, “Delovely”, “Friendship” and more, audiences will be treated to a splashy evening of exhilarating song and dance.
Anything Goes features a cast of 30 students grades 9-12, and traditionally, the Young People’s Theater’s high school performances is the very best of the entire year. “Most of these kids have participated in the program, honing their skills for the past 8 or even 10 years. This kind of commitment results in high-quality performances that truly shine,” reports SAFYPT Artistic Director & Choreographer Jennifer Julia, “Even if you don’t know the students, you will love this show. It’s witty and fast moving and perfect for adults and kids of all ages.”
Anything Goes performs Friday, Saturday, and Monday February 4, 5 & 7. Tickets are $11 for kids 12 & under, and $13 for adults. Lap kids are free. Tickets are reserved seating and are currently on sale, so be sure to buy on time and have the best view in the house!
