Telluride Playwright's Festival

Telluride Playwright's Festival (TPF) is a laboratory for playwrights, actors, and directors where dynamic, meaningful work is germinated and produced. Their mission is to help playwrights fulfill their vision in an intimate, communal setting of the Rocky Mountains.

Each summer, TPF select the near-finished works of two playwrights and then invites professional actors and directors to Telluride to work on the plays. After an intense week of working on the plays and bringing them to life on the stage, they showcase the productions to the public. By encouraging creative interaction with the viewing audience during and after live performances of a work in process, TPF assists the playwright in refining the quality of a final product. The plays TPF nourishes here go on to become bigger productions in bigger cities.
