Tom White at the Palm
The Telluride Council for Arts and Humanities and The Chamber Music Festival is proud to present pianist Tom White live at the Michael D. Palm Theater on Sunday, March 28, at 4:30 p.m.
Once a Telluride local, Tom has spent the past two years completing his master's degree in piano performance at the University of Northern Colorado. Tom is excited to return to Telluride to play this classical concert, performing some of his favorite musical pieces for the piano.
The program will include the music of Brahms, Debussy, Scarlatti and Beethoven.
Tom says, “The program is what I'll be playing for my master's recital in April. For this concert, I've tried to compare and contrast different works. The sonatas by Scarlatti will contrast in form and texture to that of Beethoven's great Waldstein Sonata. In the second half, Debussy's take on the Baroque dance suite will compare to the group of short pieces composed in the same decade, which are simply called Klavierstuke, published as op. 119, by Brahms.”
Tickets are $5, unless you are 18 or younger, in which case admission is free.
