Special Olympic Family Day
Telluride Adaptive Sports Program (TASP) hosts the third annual Special Olympics Family Day event at the Telluride Ski Resort on Saturday, December 5, 2009. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and celebrates the hard work and accomplishments achieved by regional Special Olympics participants. The event includes a day of skiing for participants with their families, an on-mountain scavenger hunt, a luncheon at TASP’s new facility in Mountain Village and lots of fun including games and prizes.
Each winter, the Telluride Adaptive Sports Program supports Special Olympics participants who live in San Miguel, Dolores, Ouray, Montrose and Montezuma Counties. TASP provides training opportunities so that the participants can successfully compete in the Western and Southwest Regional Special Olympic Competitions and, ultimately, the Special Olympics State Competitions, which are held annually at Copper Mountain.
